Compassion Sunday
October 20, 2013
8:30, 10:00, 11:30 a.m.

Compassion Sunday is the capstone of Compassion & Justice Weekend, a time we set aside each year to explore suffering in our world and the Church's role in alleviating it.

This year, we welcome Steve Roese, President of Water is Basic, a Christian organization in Sudan that works to provide clean water to people living in remote areas. Steve will share a life-changing message about the necessity of clean water for the furtherance of the Gospel.

Stay after each service for a special screening of Ru, a 20-minute film produced by Water is Basic. Ru follows a day in the life of a child profoundly affected by her community's lack of access to clean water. This is a story about the strength, joy and resilience of the people of South Sudan. Showings are 10:00, 11:30, and 1:00 upstairs on the Deck. Director Shawn Small will be with us for a time of Q&A following each screening.

Online registration is closed for Compassion Weekend serving opportunities. Click here to view this year's line-up.
