Kevin
Kahler
Kevin
w. Kahler was born, raised and still
currently lives in Turnersville ,
NJ . He graduated from Washington
Township HS in 1994 and went on to
graduate from The Richard Stockton
College of NJ with a Bachelor’s degree
in Business Management. It was in
his freshman year of high school that
Kevin came across the ministry of
Young Life. He quickly became involved,
loved it and decided to go on their
summer camp trip that year. Long story
short, it was July 31st of 1991 when
he first surrendered his live to Jesus
Christ.
For
the next five years Kevin invested
nearly every minute with his Young
Life family, growing and learning
about this new life in Christ. It
wasn’t until he was around 20 that
he first began to feel the call to
music ministry. He quickly fell in
love with the guitar and discovered
a passion for singing that he never
knew existed. Kevin claims that God
did a “complete 180” in his life when
it came to music. At around 23 he
began leading a small bible study
in Blackwood , NJ and continued there
for around 6 years. Kevin says that
in many ways he and the ministry matured
together as the years went on. It
was in his 6 th year with Elevate
that he met Pastor Bob. Pastor Bob
surprised Kevin with an amazing opportunity
to lead worship for the church’s trip
to Greece ….Kevin couldn’t say no.
Kevin’s
desire was always to find a home where
he could minister full time and after
spending a week in Greece with Bob
and the Calvary Family he knew that
this was from God. Soon after the
trip Pastor Bob offered Kevin the
opportunity to lead worship for the
Wednesday night services during the
summer of ‘05. And that pretty much
brings us to the latest chapter in
his life. Kevin currently continues
his passion for music here with the
worship team and is also working with
Pastor Steve Smickley to build a thriving
Community of Young Adults here at
Calvary . In his own words he says
“I’m so proud, blessed and honored
to be a part of such a Spirit filled,
loving and motivated family of believers
like Calvary Chapel of Delaware County.”
