Drew Placzek was born and raised in Livonia, Michigan—a suburb of Detroit. Drew came to know the Lord Jesus as his savior at the age of 28. He and his wife Holly had just renewed their wedding vows and had decided to find a church they could attend together. After hearing the good news preached for what seemed like the first time Drew and Holly accepted the Lord together in the fall of 1997.

Before joining the staff of Calvary Chapel Drew was a full time musician, teaching music by day and recording or performing by night. Drew’s wife Holly is also a musician and the two met while attending music school at Wayne State University in Detroit, Michigan. Drew and Holly have three children.

Drew’s hobbies include woodworking, trying to figure out how electricity works, and occasionally golf.
